COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT
Our Dyslexia Services in NWA
What are your session prices?
Each session is $50. Sessions are 45-50 minutes, depending on when we get to a natural stopping point in the lesson.
How many sessions do I need per week?
Ideally, a student should receive 2 or 3 sessions per week. However, I understand that every family has different availability when it comes to finances and time commitments. I am happy to work with families on a once-per-week basis.
What programs do you use?
My experience has shown me that there is no single, perfect program that works for all students for all concepts. As such, I draw on a variety of programs to best meet my students' needs.
The programs I pull from include:
Can parents observe the lessons?
Yes. Parents are always welcome to sit and observe a lesson. Parents and siblings are welcome to wait quietly in the comfortable waiting area, enjoy the building's common spaces, stay in their cars, or drop off their students. If you choose to drop your student off, please return at the 45-minute mark.
Do you help adults who want to improve their reading skills?
While I primarily focus on tutoring children, I am more than happy to help any adults with dyslexia or reading insecurities!
Do you take Education Freedom Accounts (EFA)?
Yes! I am an approved Education Freedom Account vendor through the State of Arkansas.
Will my school accept your dyslexia evaluation?
While I work to ensure my evaluation is acceptable to public schools, I cannot guarantee that your school will accept my evaluation report. I use the Tests of Dyslexia (TOD-C) and Gray Oral Reading Test (GORT) in my comprehensive evaluations, which are widely used by local school districts in their dyslexia evaluations.
